Project Overview

This project was to provide extra passenger capacity on the West London Line (WLL) by lengthening the station platforms to allow the operation by Southern of 8-car trains class 319, 350, 377 and 455. This required modification works on several station platforms including Clapham Junction Platform 17.

Objective of this project was to produce detailed design during GRIP stage 5 to facilitate Signalling alterations required to provide extra passenger capacity on the West London Line (WLL) by lengthening the station platforms to allow operation by Southern of 8-car trains.

Asset condition and cable route surveys were conducted and detailed design was produced after correlation update of all affected records during GRIP Stage 5. Design support was provided for later stages too.
