One service a day from Eastbourne – Lovers Walk was running empty to Brighton Depot and returning following morning. To prevent this move and to close Newhaven Marine branch line, Eastbourne siding was required to be electrified to make it operational.

Softech’s team of technical experts reviewed the existing Signalling circuits to undertake a condition Assessment to confirm that the existing signalling system is capable of performing the train moves required by the TOC to service the siding from the station.

Signal/Signage sighting and Operational Risk Assessment was conducted to develop the signalling scheme sketch depicting the signalling arrangements with supporting documents during GRIP stage 3.
