Project Overview
Gatwick Station was experiencing significant passenger congestion both at platform level and in the existing station concourse; this is largely due to the steady growth the station has seen as well as the number of passengers attempting to manoeuvre bulky baggage through inadequate vertical circulation facilities.
Gatwick Station experienced significant passenger congestion both at platform level and in the existing station concourse; this was largely due to the steady growth the station had seen as well as the number of passengers attempting to manoeuvre bulky baggage through inadequate vertical circulation facilities.
However, the station platform 5 and 6 still suffered from congestion and passenger circulation was not optimal. Softech was appointed to develop Signalling options required to enable the widening of platform 6.
