GRIP stage 5 (Detail Design)

Client: Jacobs

Date: March 2010

Project Overview

West-hampstead | Train station with a train going through it

West Hampstead Thameslink station is situated between Kentish Town and Cricklewood on the Midlands Main Line.

The objective of this project was to extend all platforms to allow 12 car operations.
Softech provided design support from GRIP stage 5 to 8 and produced detailed design. As part of delivery, the design was produced in 5 stages to facilitate the easy commissioning, keeping the interlocking changes to minimum. There was also a requirement to provide new pedestrian footbridge and turn back to the South.
