Project Overview

St Margaret’s station and Twickenham station were located on the Windsor Line (London Waterloo to Reading, ELR: RDG1) at mileage 10M 66Ch and 11M 21Ch respectively. The station areas were controlled from Feltham Signal box via an RRI interlocking (Twickenham interlocking) and utilised colour light Signals (Prefix F) and track circuit block.

Softech was asked to provide GRIP stage 4 design for Twickenham & St. Margaret’s Platform Extensions works along with other GRIP stage 4 supporting documents. This was part of multidisciplinary design package for the extension of platforms at number of stations on the Windsor Line sections controlled from the Signalling boxes at Wimbledon & Feltham.

Correlation of all line side equipment was undertaken for the development of Signalling Scheme Plan along with the topographical study of the area in the immediate vicinity of the stations. This topo information was used as a check of the position of on track equipment.
